Since 1974, Orlando Ballet has been upholding its mission of entertaining, educating and enriching through the highest quality of dance. The nonprofit is home to both an artistic professional company and a renowned school, with a variety of other initiatives for enriching the Central Florida community in the arts. Each season, the company puts on year-round mainstage productions that feature timeless and innovative pieces. Our team was honored with partnering with Orlando Ballet for its 50th anniversary season, allowing us to bring some of its most groundbreaking shows to life through full-scale creative collateral for each production and more.

50 Never looked so good

A Legacy Aged to Perfection

To celebrate and honor its golden 50th anniversary, Orlando Ballet came to Appleton to create an impactful, comprehensive integrated marketing campaign. To build awareness about the monumental season, the campaign began with the development of Orlando Ballet’s golden 50th anniversary logo. This was followed by the season look, which established the gold ring and midnight blues as elements to be used in visuals for the following shows and events.

Reflecting on 50

Reflections, the first show of the season, was an homage to and celebration of the organization’s milestone year. Appleton conceptualized an eye-catching concept that was translated into digital assets, posters and displays and more.

Spellbinding Marketing for
The Sleeping Beauty

Stepping into the world of The Sleeping Beauty, our team spun a marketing tale as enchanting as the fairytale itself. From developing the show’s look to using the art in a full-scale digital campaign, our designs adorned posters, playbills, billboards, display ads, print collateral and more. In the world of showbiz, themed show branding and engaging marketing assets aren’t just the spotlight; they’re the stage itself. The assets we created for The Sleeping Beauty followed the target audience throughout their entire journey with the show by serving as the opening act, setting the tone, building anticipation and ensuring attendees had an immersive experience that lingered long after the final curtain call.

A Dance of Desire

Orlando Ballet’s Casanova embodied a sultrier feel than its other shows, which influenced the aesthetic of the key visual and appropriate target audience for this campaign. A different approach was taken for the messaging and visuals to better suit these needs. The show was promoted on posters, displays, rack cards, pull-up banners and other print and digital collateral.

Waltz into a Winter Wonderland

Orlando Ballet’s World Premiere of The Nutcracker was an entirely new production that needed impressive marketing materials to support its grand introduction. Appleton created an original, evergreen logo for The Nutcracker to last the show’s 20-plus-year run. The logo was then used on all collateral, including posters, displays, digital animations, billboards and merchandise.
