Shining a Light on Hope: Kids Beating Cancer Hats & Heroes Ball 2025

Kid’s Beating Cancer (KBC) is a nonprofit organization helping children fight cancer by providing support, resources, and research advancements. KBC exists to make cures possible and save children’s lives.

On Oct. 4, KBC hosted its annual Hats and Heroes Ball, with this year’s theme, “The Piano Men.” The remarkable evening included live performance music by The Piano Men featuring songs by Billy Joel, Elton John, Liberace, and Stevie Wonder. The evening also featured a performance by Grammy and Tony Award-nominated Michael Cavanaugh from the original Broadway cast of Movin’ Out.

All money raised at the Hats and Heroes Ball goes towards advancing pediatric cancer research and clinical trials to further support children and families of Central Florida throughout their fight against cancer.

Chloe’s Fight Song

Each year, Appleton is honored to help KBC create a video featuring a child who has been impacted by the nonprofit. Chloe’s fight against cancer video was showcased at the ball.

This season, we were introduced to Chloe, a young girl diagnosed with cancer before her fourth birthday. Her mother faced the heartbreaking fear that her daughter might not live to see her fifth year.

But Chloe’s story is one of resilience, hope, and miracles. After enduring countless treatments and trials, Chloe defied the odds and emerged victorious. Her recovery is nothing short of extraordinary, a testament to her strength and the unwavering support of those around her.
