Orange County Public Library Offers Free High-Tech Resources

On the second floor of the Orange Country Public Library, creativity and technology have combined to create a revolutionary community experience. The downtown Orlando location transformed 26,000 square feet into a high-tech educational and training center. The Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center for Technology, Innovation & Creativity offers cutting-edge technology free to library cardholders.

Push your creativity to the next level with these new additions:

• Audio Production Studio – Unleash your vocal or instrumental talent in a professional-grade audio studio. Then, access an audio editing software in individual editing bays, and prepare to show off your polished work.
• Photography Studio – Access a variety of backdrops and photo-editing software to turn any still photograph into a masterpiece. A picture perfect finish is at your fingertips.
• Video Production Studio – Let the contemporary workspace cater to your next short film. Professional green screens, microphones, cameras and editing software are provided for your individual production needs.
• Fab Lab – Engage in an innovative hands-on experience with 3D printing, electronics, basic engineering, computer programming, flight interactive stimulators, robotics and more.

The center also offers creative workspace, an interactive media wall and a conference room for job training and community involvement. Most of the features are free to library cardholders after an orientation session is completed.
