Go Wild! Appleton Takes a Safari to the Central Florida Zoo

We love all of our animal pals! Appleton Creative’s President, Diana LaRue, attended the Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens’ fundraising luncheon on Thursday, March 21st to support their efforts to protect and care for endangered species and other animals. Fellow Central Florida professionals, Claire Evans, Jeff Voss, Cari Coats, and Judi Awsumb accompanied LaRue in the event. Attendees experienced animal encounters and a motivational speech by Pat Williams, Senior Vice President of the Orlando Magic.

Since it’s opening in 1975, the zoo has been providing refuge for threatened and endangered species as well as to education for the public. Animals range from exotic birds, insects, mammals, reptiles and amphibians. With their implementation of the Species Survival Plans program, in partnership with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, animals have been successfully released back into the wild.

The Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens have big plans for the future. Apart from the numerous programs and activities already available, the zoo has begun to develop a new African Safari for guests to enjoy with the help of Amazulu.
