Delivering for Meals on Wheels is the Real Deal

Recently, Appleton worked with Seniors First on several campaigns, which included a full rebranding, social media, public relations, and digital and traditional marketing, in addition to a campaign to recruit volunteers for its Meals on Wheels program. After finishing production of all the pieces, we felt we could do more to help hungry seniors in Central Florida. That’s why we decided to sign up as a corporate team of delivery drivers for Meals on Wheels. This incredible program is one community service initiative we encourage anyone who’s interested to get involved with.

Meals on Wheels is about more than just delivering food; it’s also about providing social interaction and checking the welfare of the seniors who might not have anyone else to care for them. Every Friday, two Appletonians take a few hours out of their morning to deliver a hot meal and a warm smile to seniors around Orlando. Visiting about 10 seniors each week, we’ve already learned so much about them, and we’re hooked. We’re always greeted by grateful seniors (and oftentimes their loving dogs, too) who offer their gratitude, salutations and even some sage advice. Alternating weeks, our team is able to efficiently take the time to give back to our community. So far, it has been a humbling and fulfilling experience that leaves us with a feel-good attitude knowing we’ve made a positive impact on people’s lives.
