UCF Presents Dean’s Speaker Series Featuring Dr. Amit Joshi

While data has been readily available for business decision making for more than three decades, the landscape has changed exponentially with the emergence of Big Data. The UCF College of Business recently presented the Dean’s Speaker Series on “Effective Business Analytics in the Big Data Economy.” Along with a delicious breakfast, attendees enjoyed the opportunity to connect with local business leaders and learn about the innovative and challenging programs that UCF’s faculty is leading and teaching.

Featured speaker, Dr. Amit Joshi, Associate Professor of Marketing in the UCF College of Business, discussed the importance of developing a strong, integrated system for collecting, organizing and analyzing new data due to the emergence of Big Data. Since receiving his Ph. D. in Marketing at UCLA, Joshi’s has produced research that has appeared in the Journal of Marketing, Marketing Science and Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science.
