The Power Behind Connections: Women’s Leadership Exchange

Did you know Orlando has a strong and diverse infrastructure of women’s groups? With more than 30 groups in our area offering services to women, including networking opportunities, recognition and, in some cases, grants and scholarships, the need exists to centralize this power. The Women’s Leadership Exchange is looking to serve as a powerful hub to connect these organizations and create true action for women leaders in Orlando.

This morning, Leslie Hielma, Shelly Lawton and Christi Ashby hosted the first Women’s Leadership Exchange event at the Orlando Citrus Club. The by-invite-only event was organized as an opportunity to brainstorm, share ideas and talk about ways to connect organizations. Future brainstorm sessions will be opened to more women, as the organization takes shape.

Appleton’s own Diana LaRue and Amy Wise are proud to be a part of this group at its inception. The Appleton team is working with Women’s Leadership Exchange to develop a first-phase website which may be expanded upon as the group grows.
