Stand Up for Someone – Join the Anti-Bullying Movement

Bullying has become a prevalent issue in schools across the nation. Did you know that more than 80% of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth (LGBT+) reported being verbally harassed last year? Zebra Coalition has paired with Orange County Public Schools for a yearlong campaign to raise awareness for the growing problem and help motivate the 70.6% of students who admit to having witnessed bullying firsthand to speak up.

Zebra Coalition aims to help students realize the harmful outcomes associated with their hurtful words. With the betterment of students’ lives in mind, Zebra Coalition hopes to change the negative perceptions around LGBT+ youth, and Appleton will be by their side every step of the way. As a proud supporter of the Zebra Coalition and the anti-bullying cause, the Appleton Creative team was privileged to design and develop two promotional posters for the anti-bullying campaign. The posters will be placed in more than 100 middle schools, high schools and charter schools across the district and act as an awareness effort as well as a resource for bullied students who are looking for help.

The new community campaign, alongside our posters, launched at the Standup Orlando event last week. With the help of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and many other companies and organizations, this year’s refreshed anti-bullying campaign supports the Zebra Coalition, Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center’s UpStanders programs in raising awareness and education to prevent bullying.
