Ready, Set, Row!

Originating in China nearly 2,500 years ago, dragon boating is one of the fastest growing water sports with more than 50 million paddlers worldwide. It’s no surprise that Orlando has formed a number of unique teams. One of these teams is comprised of at-risk teens and officers from the Orlando Police Department (a.k.a., “Cops and Kids”). Together they have joined forces to become the Dueling Dragons of Orlando dragon boat team.

In three short years, the team has had great success. In fact, the Dueling Dragons has been invited to compete in the 2013 International Great White North, a well-known Dragon Boat Festival in Toronto this September. On June 26th, the team hosted a “Dueling Dragons of Orlando” benefit to support the trip across country.
