Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority Celebrates 50 Years of Roadway Innovation

The road to success has bumps along the way. No organization understands this more than the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority. After years of innovation, extensions and refinements, July 2013 marked the 50-year anniversary of the organization responsible for interconnecting Orlando’s local communities and giving surrounding cities access to Central Florida.

The Expressway Authority held its first-ever “State of the Expressway Authority” address on Wednesday, August 28 highlighting the organization’s many achievements over the past 50 years as well as priorities set for the future. As a proven leader in the tolling industry, the Expressway Authority developed the first system for electronic toll collection (E-PASS) while designing and maintaining a 109-mile, 800,000-transactions-per-day expressway system.

Appleton Creative has worked closely with the Expressway Authority to help document these historic events by designing a timeline booklet and a variety of environmental branding pieces including signage and wall installments. The Appleton Video team was in on the action as well, producing a video showcasing the organization’s historic 50-years of existence.
