Happy 30th anniversary to Orlando International Airport!
Did you know that Orlando International Airport was bought for $1?
One of Appleton Creative’s favorite clients, Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) is celebrating 30 years in the sky this month! The team at the airport has been planning several promotional events to commemorate the occasion. Appleton visited the airport yesterday for GOAA’s 30th Anniversary Business Community Breakfast, which was both educational and entertaining. Congressman Lou Frey was a guest of honor at the breakfast, and is revered in OIA history for brokering the sale of McCoy Air Force Base to be used for our modern-day airport for a whopping $1.
The Business Community Breakfast was held to celebrate the past, present and future of Orlando International Airport. Appleton Creative designed the logo for the 30th anniversary, several promotional print pieces, and shot and produced “Orlando International Airport — 30 Years and Growing,” which was shown during the breakfast. The video included clippings, interviews and photos from the last 30 years.
Chris Oakley, Regional Executive for the Federal Reserve Bank discussed the economic forecast while the keynote address, titled “Perspectives of a Global Economy” was given by the Chairman and CEO of Tupperware Brands Corporation, Rick Goings. Also present at the breakfast were GOAA Board Members, City of Orlando and Orange County Mayors (past and present).
The event was a great way to celebrate the past 30 years at the airport, and we know that GOAA will celebrate many successful and prosperous years to come!
