Dragons Descend on Orlando

Dragon Boating is the fastest growing water sport in the world. The team sport is growing in popularity in the Orlando area too. Long-time dragon boat supporter and participator, Orlando Health, is a huge fan of sport, recognizing early the many health benefits of dragon boating, including increasing core muscle strength and assisting with cardiovascular fitness. The health care team recently asked Appleton Creative to create a brand that would identify their participation and role in the local dragon boating scene.

We designed a new logo for the group. The logo incorporates the elements of dragon boating, while keeping the Orlando Health brand intact.

Next we will be creating a new design for Orlando Health’s two dragon boats – an exciting project that allows our designers to flex their skills in creating wraps for the long, thin exotic boats. Additionally, Appleton Creative is creating promotional materials for the Orlando Health dragon boat program.

Look for a team of “Appletonians”, and the new-look of Orlando Health’s dragon boats, to be hitting the water this October at the Walgreens Orlando International Dragon Boat Festival Presented by PepsiCo. The festival raises money in support of the Orlando Health Foundation.

The event takes place in Turkey Lake at Bill Frederick Park and attracts recreational and competitive teams from across North America. Through a partnership with Universal Orlando® Resort, participating teams will receive special pricing on Universal Orlando® Resort resorts and attractions.
