Dishing Out Darden’s Holiday Gift Cards with Appleton Designs

Darden Restaurants is serving up the holidays with beautiful seasonal gift card designs courtesy of yours truly. As an advertising agency specializing in print and traditional services, we were excited to collaborate with Darden on these creative pieces. After all, who doesn’t love the holidays?

As a national company, Darden operates many of the restaurants you love, including Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, Yard House, The Capital Grille, Seasons 52, Bahama Breeze and Eddie V’s Prime Seafood. In the past, we worked with Darden to rebrand its everyday gift card line featuring six of its restaurant chains, and the successful results led us to creating these specialty holiday ones. Equipped with insider knowledge of the company, its brand umbrella and its audiences, we went to work on Darden’s seasonal collection.

We began by designing holiday-themed Thank You cards for Darden employees. These merry cards made spirits glow across the company. We followed this project with multiple gift card designs for several themes — Christmas, Hanukkah and general Happy Holidays. Our Christmas designs incorporate subtle images of flatware as a nod to Darden’s area of service, along with other holiday imagery of presents, ornaments and bells to evoke feelings of joy, peace and family. The Hanukkah designs feature beautiful symbols of the holiday including the Star of David and menorahs to reference the traditional stories. Our general Happy Holidays cards offer numerous options from wintry themes of snowflakes and reindeer to festive, colorful trees and vibrant, bold backgrounds.

Along with the gift card and Thank You card designs, we created matching greeting cards for both the Christmas and Happy Holidays themes. These pieces, sold exclusively with the gift cards, allow consumers to write a personal message to the recipient, adding a festive and sentimental touch to the product.

As the famous “Carol of the Bells” song goes, our gift cards were made available to all audiences, “young and old, meek and the bold,” who may purchase or receive them. That’s why both electronic and traditional gift cards are available here.
