Google Ads to Feature Reviews
Google released a new feature on their AdWords platform called review extensions. Located in your AdWords campaign, this extension allows short one-line (67 characters) reviews to be added to text ads. This feature is live now and showing up in SERPs.
Review extensions are a cool feature because they allow businesses to attach a positive review from a third party publication to their ad without using up one of the two lines of ad copy that is currently allowed in AdWords. It legitimizes the publisher and, in theory, will improve clickthrough rate. According to the Google Ads blog, the Israeli airline El Al reported a 10% increase in clickthrough rates, which is pretty phenomenal.
This is brand new stuff and businesses running AdWords campaigns can take advantage of it right now, provided they have positive reviews from third parties on the Web.
See the ad above after a search on “airlines.” Notice the ad for Cheapoair includes a one-line review from Travel Weekly. Businesses can take advantage of this feature to get an edge in their marketing efforts. Contact us to learn more and to get started on your AdWords campaign.
