UCF Town and Gown Welcomes 2014 Inductees
This past Thursday, the Town and Gown organization of the University of Central Florida held their first board meeting and annual orientation to welcome their newest members. Karen Keen, Director of Marketing for Dean Mead, was among the 2014 inductees.
Dean Mead is a commercial law firm in Florida that provides full-service legal representation to clients in various areas. Keen was a founding governing board member of the ATHENAPowerLink program for entrepreneurship hosted by Rollins College and co-founded the ATHENA International Women’s Leadership Luncheon in Orlando. The proceeds from the event are gifted to the University of Central Florida as an endowment of $100,000 and benefit their female students.
The Town and Gown Council brings members of the UCF community and members of the Central Florida community together to provide knowledge of the University to the Central Florida area and provides them with contacts and networks in the community. Diana LaRue, President of Appleton Creative, was in attendance and is a member of the Town and Gown Council providing insights into the community surrounding UCF.
