Two Paws Up for Orlando International Airport’s Newest K-9 Calendar
Whenever we step foot in an airport, it’s easy to overlook the hard work that goes into getting us to and from our destination both easily and safely. We don’t just mean the hard work from the many men and women at the airport, but also the hard work of the four-legged workers that sniff, chase and stand guard. Canine units do it all, they do it well, and they never fail to put a smile on anyone’s face. This year, it was finally time for these canines to do the smiling.
As an experienced Orlando marketing and advertising agency, we recently directed a photo shoot and captured these loyal, fearless police dogs on the job at the Orlando International Airport (MCO). We used these photos to create a 13-month calendar for all of 2019 and the beginning of 2020, showcasing the airport security dogs of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.
With our 30-year history of providing MCO with various marketing and advertising collateral, including a strategic plan book and a celebratory anniversary video, this stand-up calendar allowed us to learn even more about the employees and operations of one of the busiest airports in Florida. Every month in this calendar showcases a different canine on duty in various locations around MCO. With every photo comes a snippet of information of the police dog that’s featured. This includes the name, weight, age, years of service and a fun fact of the different canines that make up MCO’s airport dog security.
Tongues out and ears flopped over, this calendar captures the canines’ fun characters and personalities. From a Belgian Malinois that keeps port of entries safe to a Labrador and Golden Retriever mix that can balance tennis balls on his nose, airport stakeholders and employees of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority can flip through their stand-up calendars and recognize many of their adorable coworkers throughout the coming months.
But don’t let these puppy eyes trick you — these canines mean business. Each tail-wagging canine plays an integral role in enhancing and improving customer efficiency and security at MCO. The airport dog security is on duty throughout MCO and represent various departments, such as Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Orlando Police Department (OPD) Airport Division and the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. It’s only right to honor and recognize these canines’ work regularly, and what better way to do that than with a calendar — an essential desk tool we see, use and refer to on a daily basis.
