Take the Pledge Today: Join the Designated Texter Movement
We all know distracted driving is dangerous, but did you know that sending one text message is equivalent to driving the distance of an entire football field, blind? When it comes to keeping you and your family safe, no text is worth the risk. Our friends at the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority created the Designated Texter public service infinitive campaign to help ensure safer roadways and decrease the risk of accidents. For over the 50 years, the OOCEA has been committed to building a better community.
Appleton Creative was commissioned by the OOCEA to design the marketing materials for the Designated Texter campaign including website landing pages, print ads, and billboard. Our imaginative designers and copywriters also created scripts and storyboards for television commercials and radio PSAs.
In part of the Designated Texter campaign, OOCEA is urging residents to take a pledge to:
- Protect lives by never texting while driving alone, and by designating a texter if you have someone else in the car.
- Be a good passenger and speak out if the driver is distracted.
- Encourage friends and family to drive phone-free.
- Be a Designated Texter for your friends, family and coworkers when you’re a passenger in their car.

Your story may even be shared with elected officials and other decision makers advocating for an end to distracted driving.
