New Giving Circle for City of Orlando Unveiled at Monday’s State of Downtown Address

At Monday’s State of Downtown address, Mayor Buddy Dyer unveiled an Appleton Creative original Giving Circle™ to be displayed in Orlando’s City Hall. The photo tapestry showcases local community giving as part of the Mayor’s “Why I Love Orlando” campaign.

The Giving Circle™  is a colorful and poignant collage, the first one designed by Diana LaRue, President and owner of Appleton Creative, for the firm’s new downtown office. Instead exhibiting Appleton’s numerous awards throughout the firm’s new space, LaRue wanted to create a gallery featuring works of art to bring awareness to charitable organizations. A different charity is featured quarterly, and LaRue dedicated a portion of the gallery solely to the Giving Circle art.

“One picture can tell a thousand words,” said LaRue. “I want to use art to bring awareness to what really matters in life and our community needs.”

The Giving Circle™ has been so well received that, in addition to the City Hall Giving Circle™, LaRue intends to donate a personalized Giving Circle™ to select Central Florida organizations demonstrating a commitment to serving their community. To date, Great Oaks Village and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation have been recipients.

The City of Orlando’s Giving Circle™ features members of our community that are dedicated to improving the city, as well as quotes from each person expressing what they have given to Orlando, and what the city has in turn given to them.
