Beacon College: A Logo for an Inspirational Brand
Tucked away in the quaint lake town of Leesburg, lies the only accredited college offering BA and AA degrees exclusively for students with learning disabilities, ADHD, or gifted LD – Beacon College.  A model for other universities’ LD programs, the students here are of above average intelligence – noted for their creativity and determination; like many well-known people, including Tom Cruise, Richard Branson and Michael Phelps, they face the additional challenges of listening, learning and processing information that differ from the majority.
Appleton Creative was recently tasked with a complete rebranding campaign for Beacon College starting with a new logo. This 25-year+ institution is enjoying a growth period, creating additional majors and expanding the number of student admissions.
Working closely with Beacon College, Appleton Creative presented 16 creative concepts and designs of which administration narrowed to a top 5. The top 5 were tweaked and shared with current students and faculty for feedback. The students’ overwhelming vote was for one design in particular which expressed the warmth, inclusion and future-focused philosophies of Beacon College.
The winner?
Congratulations Beacon College and thank you – for all the good you do to make sure that every student meets (and exceeds) their potential!
