Appleton Creative Follows the Yellow Brick Road to a Cure!

Last year, Appleton Creative donated time and services to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) by producing save-the-dates, invitations and shooting video for the foundation’s annual charity gala. They are keeping the tradition alive by helping out again this year by doing the same!

This past weekend, the JDRF children had a photo shoot in costume for their themed invitation and program. This year’s gala theme revolves around the Wizard of Oz—“Follow the Yellow Brick Road to a Cure.” The children dressed up as characters from this beloved movie for the shoot, including Dorothy, Tin Man, Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion.

After taking their pictures at the photo shoot, the children gathered with the Appleton team and created pieces of art inspired by the Wizard of Oz line “If I only had a…” The children expressed their thoughts and feelings about finding a cure using the words “heart,” “brain,” and “courage” and drew a picture around those thoughts.

Appleton will bring awareness to the children of JDRF by showcasing their art in our Giving Circle TM Gallery this summer and fall. Look for our invitation to the gallery opening, which will take place before their gala in October.
