As you may know, here at Appleton, we like to eat … a lot. So to combine our love for delicious cuisine and entertainment, we sharpened our knives and headed to Truffles and Trifles to learn a thing or two in the kitchen. Located in the heart of College Park, Truffles and Trifles offers gourmet cooking classes with professionally trained instructors guiding you along each step of the way.
When we arrived, our team was divided into five groups of four and each group was in charge of two or three items. We learned how to chop, bake, sautée, roast and received a handful of other useful tips. For some of us, cooking is not our forte but we still had fun. The night ended with a family-styled dinner and heaping scoop of leftovers.

Appetizers – Hot Crab Dip with French Bread Crackers and Coconut Shrimp with Honey Plum Sauce
Salad – Roasted Pear Salad with Baby greens, Gorgonzola and Balsamic Dressing
Side Items- Four Cheese Lobster Mac and Cheese, Chantilly Mashers with Whipped Cream and Gruyere Cheese, and Green Beans with Garlic, Tomatoes and Shallots
Entrees – Whole Roasted Chicken Stuffed with Cornbread Stuffing and Pan Gravy and Braised Short Ribs in Wine
Dessert – Bread Pudding with the Brandy Sauce and French Vanilla Ice Cream
