Briley Farm

The town of Oakland, Florida, just 16 miles west of Orlando, is home to Briley Farm, a meticulously maintained stretch of farmland on the southern shore of Lake Apopka. Passed down through generations of the Briley family, the land is a haven for many exotic breeds. The shining star of the farm is the Watusi cattle, known as the “cattle of kings.” Many other species of animals reside at Briley Farm including African hoofstock, miniature donkeys, and a wide variety of birds, including ostriches, emus, peafowl, wild turkeys, macaws, and guinea fowl.

Briley Farm created a website designed by Appleton Creative to increase awareness of this historic land throughout the Central Florida community. The site includes a complete history of the Briley family and information about the animals that live on the farm.  Users can also find links to other websites that are relevant to the farming community.  Briley Farm hopes to uphold the legacy of its predecessors and continue in its efforts to preserve the exotic wildlife that call the farm home.
